The Celebrated Misterk: CISL 1996- Washington Warthogs @ Indianapolis Twisters: Highlights

Source:The Celebrated Misterk- I believe that's the Indianapolis Twisters celebrating a goal.

"Highlights of the first home game in the short history of the Indianapolis Twisters of the Continental Indoor soccer League. The Twisters lost 7-6 in overtime to the Washington Warthogs at Market Square Arena and finished 10-18 in their first year in the CISL."

From The Celebrated Misterk

I wasn't an Indianapolis Twisters fan growing up and living just outside of Washington, during the short-lived Continental Indoor Soccer League back in the mid-1990s, but I did follow a Washington Warthogs game and even went to a game back in 1995 at the Capital Centre, in Landover, Maryland.

Washington has always been an excellent pro, major league soccer market. The Diplomats proved that at RFK Stadium back in the 1970s in the old North American Soccer League. And the United are proving that today in Major League Soccer and will have their own soccer stadium in Washington in a few years.

And yet other than the Warthogs, Washington has never had a major indoor soccer league franchise, even though Washington is a big city and one of the biggest markets in the country, with a great downtown sports arena. This would I believe be a great market for an MISL franchise in the future and could probably even work with the United as far as developing and signing players.
