This 1940 Republican Party film arguing that the New Deal is costing America its national defense. Arguing that money that went to deal with the Great Depression, poverty, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, is money that should've went to our national defense. 

But if you are familiar with President Franklin Roosevelt, who of course was a Progressive Democrat, but he was anything but soft on defense. America became a world economic and military power, as well as the leader against communism under President Roosevelt's and later President Harry Truman's watch. So you can take this Republican film anyway you want, but these are the facts.
