"MIAMI VS. NOTRE DAME NOV 30TH,1985 FULL GAME MICHAEL IRVIN JIMMY JOHNSON"
From Lubbock Texas
You can make a pretty good case that this is the game that started the Notre Dame/Miami Florida rivalry because Miami was about to become the college football program of the 1980s. Notre Dame replaces Gerry Faust with Lou Holtz, who simply wanted to bring a national championship back to Notre Dame and make them a national football power again. And the Hurricanes simply dominated the Fighting Irish in this game 58-7. You had to think that Lou Holtz pointed to this game and to use it as the marker, the team (meaning Miami Florida) that the Irish have to beat to get back to the top of college football again.
